Childbirth Educational Programs

Childbirth Education Class

• Series of eight classes: first class on pregnancy, infant care and growth and development; and remaining six classes on preparation for labor/delivery and parenting. $15 fee.
• Refresher class available for couples who have attended childbirth education classes with a previous pregnancy. $10 fee.
• Classes begin between the sixth and seventh month of pregnancy.

Sibling Class

• For children at least 3 years old.
• One class.
• No fee if parents are registered in a childbirth class at Wheeling Hospital.

Breastfeeding Class

• One class.
• No fee if parents are registered in a childbirth class at Wheeling Hospital.
• Call 304-243-5058.

Boot Camp for New Dads

• Second Saturday of every other month, 9:30 a.m. to noon.
• Free for expectant fathers whose babies are to be delivered at Wheeling Hospital.

Highest Quality of Care

Ensuring the highest quality of care, Wheeling Hospital has six birthing rooms, a Level II nursery, advanced practice neonatal nurses and a staff certified in neonatal resuscitation.
